Experience & background

Evelyn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Calgary, focusing on crime and deviance.

She joined Yanko & Popovic in 2014 as a paralegal under the guidance and mentorship of David Yanko.

After eight years as a paralegal, Evelyn returned to school while continuing to work full time with the firm.

She earned her LLB from the University of Buckingham with first-class honours in January 2023.

ADVOCACY & COMMUNITY

Before joining the firm, Evelyn worked in the non-profit sector, where she developed her interest in advocating for her community.

She is passionate about patient advocacy and has spoken at The Women’s Parliament in Cambridge about medical autonomy and decision-making.

ACADEMIC RECOGNITION

During law school, Evelyn received awards for best performance in Criminal Law and best overall performance in examinations.

She was also nominated for a Woman of the Future Award.
